FEMA Floodplain Mapping Services
Barraco and Associates, Inc. provide comprehensive FEMA floodplain mapping services, including Letters of Map Amendment (LOMA), Letters of Map Revision (LOMR), and “No-Rise” Certifications.
According to current Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs), much of Southwest Florida lies within “AE” flood zones, FEMA’s designation for areas with a 1% annual chance of flooding. Unfortunately, these maps are typically created with generalized, large-scale topographic data that does not incorporate detailed, site-specific information. By utilizing our in-house surveying staff and an in-depth knowledge and experience with both local and federal flood hazard management policies, Barraco and Associates, Inc. has been able to successfully perform numerous map modifications, substantially reducing flood insurance premiums and, in some cases, eliminating Flood Zone designations that would otherwise render properties undevelopable.
