Barraco FTP Usage Guidelines
Our FTP (file transfer protocol) site is used to send and receive large digital files, typically when those files are too large to send via e-mail. Contact your project manager to receive a username and password specific to your company or project. Anonymous access is not allowed to the Barraco FTP site.
Please read Conditions of Use in the right column of this page prior to exchanging files using FTP.
Use the following information to access BAI’s FTP site from any FTP client:
- Address: ftp.barraco.net
- Username: (provided by your BAI contact) – no anonymous logins are permitted
- Password: (provided by your BAI contact)
Examples of methods that may be used to access our FTP site:
Windows Explorer
If you are running Microsoft Windows you can connect to the FTP site by opening Windows Explorer and in the address box at the top of the window type “ftp.barraco.net”. Hit Enter and then type in the username and password you were provided. Now you can copy files to and from your computer and the Barraco FTP server. If you are not sure how to open Windows Explorer you can press the Windows key (between CTRL and ALT at bottom left) along with the letter “E”.
FTP Client
If you don’t already have an FTP Client installed, you will need to do so. The links below are examples of FTP Client applications. FileZilla works great and is free. Please consult your IT department regarding FTP use, and before installing any software. Our lawyers suggest we tell you that BAI has no affiliation to these products and any use shall be at the sole risk of the user.
Example FTP Clients:
- FileZilla (freeware for Windows, Linux or Mac)
- SmartFTP (free trial for Windows)
- CuteFTP (free trial for Windows or Mac)
Web Browser
If you don’t have access to an FTP client or you don’t know how to use Windows Explorer, you may be able to login to the FTP site with a web browser, but it is not recommended. Some web browsers support FTP download and upload, others only support downloading files. A true FTP client (see above) is your best bet if you need to *upload* content. The FTP site is located at ftp://ftp.barraco.net
